Sweet Sixteen

Our RVA children all have fall birthdays, so they celebrate their special days at school, with friends and the generous help of dorm parents. A couple of years ago when Sara turned 16, we had a special party for her during the Christmas vacation and today we continued that tradition for Hannah. Amazingly, we escaped the rain. We went to a new restaurant on a nearby lake that is reached best by boat. While waiting for the boat, we were recruited to sing with a local choir who was making a video:

We enjoyed the boat ride.

I had fun putting together a birthday book of photos of Hannah. It took a while for the food to arrive, but when it did, it was delicious-fish freshly caught from the lake:

After the lunch, we drove back home and had birthday cake. It was a nice outing and good way to celebrate Hannah’s 16 years.

  1. Love this, Louise! Would love to see the book, too. You know how to celebrate the kids. Have a wonderful break with them. Julia arrives home today, and Rebecca next Thursday or Friday. Can’t wait. Linda
